‘Curve Ball Tattoo Marathon’ Sneak Peek ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿป Turf War (Season 13)

(ominous music) – Welcome, to win this turf war, you must fight for survival
alongside your team. – We got this. – But ultimately, only one
of you will earn $100,000, a feature in “Inked Magazine”
and the title of Ink Master. – [Frank] Cross that bridge
when we come to it, right? – Mm-hmm. – Today there is
no flash challenge. – What?
– Curve ball. – We are moving directly
into a tattoo marathon. (gasps)
– Marathon? – Oh, shit. – What the (beep)?
– Marathon? – It never stops.
– Here we go. – In each round of the marathon, you must impress us
with creative tattoos that prove you have what
it takes to get to the end. – All right. Creativity and tattooing, is
what get you that wow factor. If you don’t have creativity, then you’re not going to stand
out in a crowd of tattooers. – For the first round, you can tattoo any style
or subject you want. – I like that.
(deep sigh) – I’m down with that. – But–
– There’s always a but. – You must collaborate
with your team. – Oh, it’s about to get real.
– Oh, my God, no. – Goddamn. – Each team will create one
tattoo on one human canvas. – One canvas, one tattoo? – It just got a lot harder. – With everything
that’s been going on, collaboration is the
furthest thing from my mind. It’s like bad sushi on a
Tuesday, you just don’t want it. – Now, how your team
works together is
completely up to you, but know this, you
will win as a team or you will lose as a team. – Oh. – We are asking
you to collaborate. Who tattoos is your business. If you all tattoo, if one
of you tattoos for the team, but you will sink or swim
as a team on that tattoo. – [Frank] We have
to work together. One well-oiled machine.
– Yeah. – And the word of the
day is creativity. That’s what we’re looking for. Something unique,
something that’s gonna blow everybody else
out of the water. – Creativity, we got that. – I know. – This is your first chance to secure safety
for your region. Fail to stand united and one
of you could be going home. – We can’t afford that. We need to win that safety cause right now we only have
three members on our team, so we need to make sure
we nail this tattoo cause we gotta get the
daddy to the finale, baby. – You have six hours
to show your creativity with a team
collaboration tattoo. Go get set up and we’ll
send in your canvases. Good luck. – All right, let’s do it.
– Let’s go. – Part of being creative
in this challenge is gonna be listening
to everybody’s ideas and working together as a team and putting the
best idea forward. – I already have designs
made up that nobody’s seen. Like this guy right here. – Now that’s cool.
– That’s cool. Laid it all out. – With five of us,
it’s gonna be tough to all get our hands on it. – If I did the line work, it
would probably benefit better. – I wanna do the color. – I have nothing to
prove at this moment. Having just two minds
working on something is better than having five. So, if the boys can handle
it, let them handle it. – I think something
that screams cartoon, something that tells a scene, would be awesome. Being nominated for the bottom, especially by a team member, it just still feels like
digging yourself out of a hole. This is one of my
favorite drawings. I’ve been dying to do it and I’ve got a
(beep) ton of ideas. This is my first one. – But I feel like it
needs to have some play with the background. – Yes, absolutely. – I’m thinking more
sort of like surrealist, like getting (beep) weird. – [Jimmy] I love
stuff like that. – A face and there’s
a door in the cheek and something was
coming out of it. – I like where were going. – [Blonde] Yeah, it’s weird. – I wanna support everyone
else in what they do well. If I see something like that, and what is that, like
a pelican, a heron? What’s that one
over there yours? – [Jordan] It’s a heron, yeah. – Exactly, I like the shapes and things that are
happening in that. – I have that design
all ready to go. – When it comes to you, seeing your work, crystals– – We can do some crystals.
– [Frank] Geodes. – I don’t think that
crystals go with a heron. That doesn’t make sense to me. – I don’t see an
issue with that. – I don’t know why, but
when I think of this bird in particular though, it just,
I guess I’d have to see it. – [Frank] Right.
– I know that Frank is kind of automatically
the team leader. He’s been here before, but, Frank, why
won’t you listen? Why? (Frank imitates bird) (ominous music) – Okay, artists, you
have six hours to tattoo and your time starts now. – All right guys.
– Let’s do this. – In the first part of
this tattoo marathon, each team can all tattoo,
one of them can tattoo, it’ll be as they see fit. – [Black Hat] Dig it. – Having this many different
cooks in the kitchen could either be the
amazing meal of a lifetime or it could be the worst
thing you’ve ever tasted. – Ba-boom.
– There it is. (needle buzzing)
– All right, here we go. (aggressive heavy metal music) Jason, you doing everything? – No, I wish. – Jordy and Patrick are
gonna work on color. Money Mike is going to,
I actually have no idea. – You’re gonna supervise, dude. – Whatever he wants to do. – The perception of
our team is that me and Jordy are just like the
step kids left on the steps. Long as I can keep getting
to the next challenge, I really don’t care. (intense music) – Holy black, Batman.
– [Blonde] You know, dude. – Gotta make sure all the
black is solid like that. – That’s the goal. – We might be down
a team member here, but that could work
to our advantage cause now we only have three
artists, three opinions, where the other teams, there might be too many
cooks in the kitchen. (upbeat rock music)
(needles buzzing) – Three hours left,
everybody, three hours. – You guys, I’m having
so much fun right now. – [Frank] Make sure
that we like punch that saturation in there. – No, I don’t wanna go
too dark down there. Trust me, man, trust me,
I know what I’m doing. – I like a dark value just because it’ll make everything
else much brighter up top. – All right, I’ll
make them darker. I’m second guessing
what we’ve done and it’s stressing me out. Were we creative enough? Did we really show ourselves
as artists collectively? We need this win. We can’t afford to lose
anybody on our team. (needle buzzing) – I’m slow but
I’m not that slow. – It’s not gonna
be done in time. He’s making it beautiful
with all the blending, but it doesn’t need
that much blending. – If we blend too much
then it’s gonna not have as much of a punch. He’s going slow,
like really slow. Like I would have been done
with this tattoo by now. – [Hiram] Let me do it,
I’m not worried about time. Let me just do it,
let me just do it. – You sure?
– Yeah, yeah, I’m good. – Are you sure?
– Let me just do it. Let me just do it. – Are you sure?
– Yeah. – Okay. – I already have the
machine on my hands, I already have the color poured
and I’m already doing this. – You want me to put the red in? – No, man, I want
to do the color and I want you guys
to leave me alone. I really need them to
(beep) off and let me focus. – Final hour remaining. (suspenseful music) – So I just need your machine. We’re gonna blend a little bit of gray out that way
– Come out this side. Yeah, yeah
– And a little gray up and then leave the (mumbles). Patrick’s got me worried. I’ma tag team this tattoo. I wanna make sure that
we get all the rest of the colors in there. – Just gonna knock this sun out. – I’m almost done with the sun. – So you know like, if
you’re ever in a hospital and there’s that doctor
that just comes by and asks you to
wiggle your fingers and then he walks out without
really doing anything? And still makes like 300 bucks. – [Man] Is that you right now? – Yeah. It’s like these moments when
you actually realize that less on a team is more, is better cause there’s
not so many opinions. – Yeah (laughs). – Five, four, three, two, one. That’s it, machines down. Time is up, no more ink. – That’s it. – Hell yeah.
– Right, dude you made it. (laughs)
– Looks like a big sticker. All right.
– Chillin’ like a villain. – Hell yeah. – Oh. – Right on.
– You’ve done great. – You’re all done.
– That’s it. We did it together and
we win it together. – My work here is done. – Damn. – You had me sweating
on the clock, Hiram, but you guys (beep)
pulled it out dude. – What are you thinking? – I think I’m pretty
(beep) excited. – You’re excited about what? – Well, our good job and
your future critique. – They’re gonna talk about
all the black in ours and the lack of black in yours. – The lack of black in ours? – There’s no black
in your tattoo. – There’s no black in it? – There’s no black
in your tattoo. A lot of gray and you know where
they say gray is? In the middle. – In the middle?

  1. West: I like the tattoo. The colors look saturated and overall, itโ€™s pretty damn good.

South: Even though Jason & Patrickโ€™s egos are annoying, they make a pretty damn good looking tattoo. Theyโ€™re right, it looks like a sticker. Technical application is great ๐Ÿ‘

Midwest: I like the bird, but Frank, you should have listened to Jordan. Why did you put crystals near it?!? That doesnโ€™t make sense.

East: I like black & grey tattoos as much as the next guy, but that tattoo is hard to interpret. Everything looks crammed in. Let it breathe!

  2. I hate all the fake surprise and clearly staged shit talking. Cut the reality tv crap and just give us a show about tattooing ๐Ÿ™„

  3. Looks like they learned from passed seasons where four artists would tattoo the same person at the same time, and basically torture them. Remember the chick who wanted to be turned into a cheetah?

  4. Aww Iโ€™m gonna miss Oliverโ€™s crazy faces and hand gestures that they cut to during explanations…

  5. That Japanese frog has been done at least three times- one of which at the finale. Don't people watch the episodes? Or maybe I just need to get a life ๐Ÿ˜€
